AFRICAN ELEPHANT|TEMBO

Elephant at Serengeti National Park
Elephants are largest land mammal. Male elephants weigh almost twice as such as female and have more forehead and heavier and longer tusks females have a pointed forehead.
Elephants spend 16hrs a day feeding, interspersed with visits to suitable mud wallows, after which they often shower themselves with dust and rub against trees or boulders , all of which helps to remove ticks and keep their skin in good condition.
All elephants secrete a thick, strong-smelling substance called temporin from temporal glands.
